Once, my father rode on his Harley in his white thobe. People honked in amazement (and perhaps, confusion).

Today, I went to Jummah prayer after so many months of missing it. Because of my excuse; "School". And I felt so proud of myself, and now I hope and pray for many Muslims to show up for Salah, because it is more important than education. May Allah swt guide every Muslim in the west, and grand us to Jannatul Firdous. <3 Ameen.

Today, after making cryptic comments about "that thing on my head," and asking me to define my religion, a woman at the bus station remarked "But, honey, you're WHITE! You know you're WHITE, don't you? Are you SURE you're Muslim?" MLIM.

Today, I was on the bus with two of my friends. Our bus driver was black (Not trying to be rascist, & I am not muslim) and was yelling at a muslim family for no reason and told them to get off the bus. I am only 15, but I was the only person on the bus who stood up and defended the family. I wish there were more people who would do this for others. MLIM.

I had a nightmare last night that entailed me drinking an entire bottle of vodka because of social pressure... I woke up panting and worrying that it was real life then went back to bed with relief at knowing I still had not ever had a sip of alcohol. MLIM

Today, I realized that the Desis and the Arabs in my city can never agree on what day Ramadhan starts and what day Eid is. MLIM

Today, I realize how "Hijab" is very different in Arab countries, some people think its o.k to show their elbows, or wear skinny jeans, but has to be below the knees, if you want to wear hijab, atleast do it the right way, the way Islam tells you to do it!

Today, my hijab/jilbab wearing mother was taking a walk around the neighborhood. She saw an Israeli family driving a car with a huge Israeli flag on it. They gawked at her, and then proceeded to follow her as she continued walking. She had to make a detour through another neighborhood in order to confuse them and not let them know where we live. MLIM.

When I was in 6th grade, for social studies we were once divided into groups to study separate religions. As far as the students knew, our choices were Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, and Muslim. MLIM.
