Today, I heard about a man who wouldn't teach gun lessons to non-Christians and particulary Muslims. Why? He said he wouldn't teach the "enemy" to use a gun so that we could go and shoot American people. Many people agreed with him. Is this really how America sees Muslims? OLIM and being hurt by racism :(

Last year, my friends and I were called terrorists by some girl. We told the principal and he said he interviewed us and, he said he would do "something." He didn't do a thing. It still hurts us that she didn't get a punishment for her wrong doing. MLIM

I am a hijabi and a customer at my job asked me in a low voice and with a surprised look "They let you work here?!?" I wasn't sure if she meant the company let a "terrorist" work here or if the Muslim men let me out of the house!

Last semester during Ramadan, my non-Muslim professor approached me and told me to feel free to leave during my 5-hour Chemistry class if I needed to pray and/or break my fast and she explained to me how it is not my fault the schedule is not adjusted to my religion. At that point, I had already been excusing myself from class daily to pray 'Asr. MLIM

I have two autoimmune disorders, chronic internal bleeding and have to get weekly IVs of iron and take steroids daily to stay alive. Ramadan has become my least favorite time of the year because of the dirty looks I get from so many people who catch me taking my medicine. MLIM.

Today I realized that Lauren Weisberger has subtly made fun of Muslims in her novels. Since most of her facts in the books about Muslims are not correct, it made me sad to think that some people can be so ignorant about Islam.

Today, my female coworker told me about a grocery store near her house that started selling "halal" meat. She asked the cashier and was told that it's "Muslim meat" and that "they let the animal suffer." I explained to her what halaal meat is. After five mins, she held onto the suffering explanation and decided not to buy "muslim meat." She then went and told her uber Christian friend. MLIM
